My foot print introduction
Description:
In this activity, we were to create a footprint that told everything about us. This included our interests, hobbies, events that happen in our past, things we hope for in the future and so on. What we used to tell the story was all up to use, as long as we use three different types of media to do so. I choose to use what I had most readily available which included: newspaper and magazines, sticker pads, construction paper, glitter and yarn. The yarn I used to create lilacs of which are my favorite flower. I used newspaper pictures to cut out the Jeep and the cartoon strip to depict the car I recently bought and the job as a nanny (represented by the kids on the comic strip) I recently started. The various stickers show the type of foods I like most which are junk foods. The smiling emoji shows the attitdude I try to always sport. The magazine cutouts of the shoe, Dolly Parton and the Target logo tell about my three favorite things in the world. And lastly, the golf ball and guitar tell about my love for the game of golf and for music, but especially my love for rock music.
Expansion activity:
A fun and interesting twist to this "Getting to Know You" activity would be to involve toilet paper! How this would work is to randomly start circulating a roll of toilet paper around the classroom, instructing that each student must take at least one piece of toilet paper from the roll. Once all students have their individual pieces of toilet paper, inform them that they must write one fact on each of their pieces they ripped off. Once everybody is done writing facts on their toilet paper, they will have to share all their facts with the class.
