Hidden Safari
Description:
For this project we used white printing paper, a blue colored pencil, and a red, yellow, and orange crayon for the main artwork. We used red film and construction paper to create eyeglasses to help see the hidden image. First, you draw your image with a blue colored pencil then you draw over the image with the red, yellow, and orange crayon. Each crayon will have its own pattern you cover the original artwork with. Once completed, the viewer should not be able to see the orgininal drawing unless they use the special eyeglasses. We displayed the project on construction paper with three hints describing the hidden picture written on an index card.
Extension:
An extension for this project would be to have students write answers to math problems in the blue colored pencil, then use the red, yellow, and orange crayon to cover. Other students will only be able to see the correct answer if they were to use the special eyeglasses.
